First things first...THE running log: http://www.mapmyrun.com/workouts/
You can click on that link if you are really that interested in following proof of my progress :) But here it is in easier terms...
Day #32, Wed, Oct 24, Amanda and Ellie, 5 miles on the Canal. Much faster than I would have done by myself after a few pretty heavy runs the days prior. Thanks Amanda! Great company and great pace!
Day #33, Thurs, Oct 25, 2 miles very slow on the tread (it's the slowest I can go for a recovery day)
Day #34, Friday, Oct 26, 2 miles slow on the tread
Day #35, Sat, Oct 27, 2 miles around Heinz Field Stadium and Heinz Field Parking lot. I expected this to be my most challenging day logistically of the 100 days. JD and I drove out to see Meredith at PITT for the first time in 2 months! We left at 4:15 am, got there by 9:00 am, visited with her in her apt, went and got food for tail-gaiting, were tail-gaiting with Mere and Laken by 11:00 am, went into game at 12:00 pm (yikes, when was I going to run?), decided to run around inside the stadium during the 3rd quarter, got a mile in there, then did the other mile while they were walking back to the car. Not ideal, but kept my commitment...which is really, really important to me. (It's all on my mapmyrun log). Then drove (JD drove) 5 hours home without stopping. Got home at 9:45 pm...what a whirlwind, but so worth it to see my baby's smiling face!!!
Day #36, Sun, Oct, 28, 10 Mile Evansburg Challenge! Last minute decision to still go to the race. Was considering blowing it off because of the impending storm. Got there literally 4 minutes before the race was to start. Never been so unprepared for a race...didn't even have my lucky bandana around my wrist, no tissues, no headband to hold my bangs back, brand new sneakers that had never been run in before. The stars must have been aligned...4th place medal in my age group! I'm on a roll.
Day #37, Mon, Oct, 29, 2 miles on the CB West Track with JD...that's a best friend for you! Not sure how I could be doing this without his support. He knows how important this is to me to follow through! Pouring rain, whipping winds. I'm thinking tomorrow may be my toughest day logistically now. My plan is to go out very late in the day after the hurricane dies down. Or I may be logging miles running around my house...but it'll get done!
