Before I get into the "meat" of my topic on this post, I wanted to share a product with you that I find to be fairly sound as far as ingredients and possibly useful when you find yourself starving and need to grab something that wasn't prepared by your own two hands.
These canned rice and beans are great for lunch or dinner with the addition of diced, cooked chicken breast or spicy turkey sausage. Just add it all to a non-stick pot or pan and you have a full, pretty balanced meal. Add a side salad and your golden.
You could eat the whole can and take in just 270 calories. Prepared products are OK if they are made of whole ingredients, have limited ingredients and little or no preservatives. This canned, prepared product is very different in quality than a prepared bag of chips or a granola bar that has preservatives.
I do not endorse products, however, more often than I can keep track of, people ask me..."What do you eat"?.
I guess they are usually referring to the fact that I am in a normal weight range and have what most might consider better than average muscle definition. I think they also mean "for a woman your age" Hah!
They seem to think I have some sort of secret diet and exercise regimen.
The "key", not secret, is being honest with myself about my caloric intake as well as the intensity of my work-outs. Can you all say the same?
Measure your food, read labels, count calories and work out hard, hard, and harder!!!
So, my goal is to have "Featured Products" on most of my posts. If you have one to share, please do so in the "comments" area at any time.
Check out the Food Page for two new recipes this week!
I have so many ideas for Blog Topics, but I just don't know where to start. I don't want to go down a path that none of you are interested in so I figured I would list a few options and see if I could get some feedback from all of you.
Here are some of my ideas...
-Weight training for women
-How to lose body fat
-Feature on male clients and members over 60 who could give any 30 year old a run for their money (you know who you are)
-Positive effects of exercise on chronic asthma
-my favorite sites for recipes and diet and exercise tips
-why do you look the same and you've been working out religiously for months
-best low calorie alcoholic beverage choices (:
-What is with the low-carb theories?
-feature on clients and/or members that have legitimate reasons to complain about why they can't exercise, but never do/excercise and illness success stories
Please post your feedback by clicking on the comments area of this page. All or any additional ideas are welcome!
Anyone have any interest in an outdoor workshop on the canal on Sunday, November 7th at 8:30 am? It would probably run around $15 a head. Again, please give me feedback in the comments area on this page.
